Graduated as Geography teacher (Joaquín V. González graduate) in 1988. Graduated as Public Translator (U.B.A. graduate) in 1990. Training courses attended (mainly based on methodoly applied to eaching). Accreditation granted by the University of Cambridge on Coursework for IGCSE and AS level. Teaching experience in bilingual schools (more than 15 years). Currently working at: Saint Andrew's Scots School, Geography teacher. Nueva Escuela Argentina 2000, Environmental Management teacher. At present, starting a Master in Environmental Studies at UCES.

- To have an overall view of the main concepts about energy from the IGCSE syllabus. - To help teachers in their research of ways to implement challenging proposals to their students. - To cooperate in the planning of a task-based activity related to energy. - To provide activities and ready-to-take classroom resources to be directly applied when teaching. - To discuss about the best use of classroom resources to fulfill IGCSE requirements.
The session will deal with most of the energy topics appearing in the IGCSE Environmental Management syllabus. It will also cover some of the energy issues from the IGCSE Geography syllabus. The main ideas on energy topics will be discussed and the activities to develop said content in class will be proposed. The role of the student as a participative member is always taken into account.
The session will start with an introduction followed by a presentation of the main energy topics required by the IGCSE. Activities to deal with said topics will be proposed and analysed, focusing on the role of an active student. A brief workshop dealing with a specific energy topic will take place. A video session will follow. Related past papers will be discussed.
