High school teachers preparing students for IGCSE literature, language and literature teachers and literature lovers.
To get teachers to:
• Become better acquainted with the social and philosophical context in which the stories were written.
• Discuss the relevance of the stories to the postmodern reader in the early XXIst century.
• Evaluate the obstacles that make it difficult to approach these texts with adolescents whose native tongue is not English, as well as the points that make them a good choice.
• Discuss approaches and develop techniques to approach the stories in the high school classroom.
• Explore tasks which can help students who are being trained for IGCSE Literature.
• Modernism and the short story.
• Modernist writing vs. "contemporary" writing.
• Bridging relevance and cultural gaps.
• Textual Intervention techniques.
