Beatriz Koessler

Beatriz holds an MA in Literary Linguistics from the University of Nottingham, Uk. She was a lecturer in British Literature and Literature in the Language Class at both I.S.P. "J. V. González" and I.E.S. en Lenguas Vivas "J. R. Fernández" for more than thirty years. She has worked as a materials designer for the British Council and for Pearson Education. She's co-author of the Storyline series.
Primary School Teachers and Lower Secondary School Teachers.
- To acquaint teachers with three distinguished contemporary children's writers whose work students will find both extremely appealing and easy reading.

- To propose authentic material, rather than graded readers, for an age group who is often difficult to please.

- To provide teachers with innovative teaching strategies that will allow them to make the most of the novels in preparation for future IGCSE ones.

Each session will be self-contained. Thus, teachers can decide on how many they wish to attend.
They can also choose to read the novels beforehand (copies are available at KEL's) or attend the sessions in order to familiarize themselves with the authors via excerpts.
The sessions will be organized in terms of workshops for participants to enrich their understanding of the texts with contributions from the group. The latter will discuss the target audience for each text, points of entry, textual interventions and intertextual links which can be established with other verbal or visual texts.
