Nancy Johnstone

Nancy Johnstone is a graduate teacher of English (I.N.E.S en Lenguas Vivas “J. R. Fernández”) and Licenciada en Inglés (UNL). She holds a Specialisation degree in Education and Constructivism (FLACSO), and is currently working on her master’s thesis. She has always taught English at bilingual schools, teacher training colleges and the School of Engineering - UBA, where she is the Head of the Languages Department. She has been a Cambridge Speaking Examiner since 1995 and an Examiner Trainer and Coordinator/Team Leader since 2008.
She was awarded the IATEFL Cambridge English Peter Hargreaves Scholarship in 2016.

- to help teachers prepare their learners more effectively for the Cambridge English: Key (for Schools) exam.
- to demonstrate how a cross-skills approach helps to reinforce and revise language, grammar and vocabulary in different contexts.
- to provide teachers with classroom activities and ideas to teach and practise functional language, grammar and vocabulary when preparing learners for the exam.
- Inventory of functions, notions and communicative tasks, and different contexts in which functions are used.
- Inventory of grammatical areas and different topics in which different areas can be practised.
- Introduction to the English Vocabulary Profile.
- Teaching and reviewing vocabulary over time and in different contexts, using a cross-skills approach.
- Teaching ideas.
Presentation and audience participation.
