Silvana Tejon

is currently the Academic Director of ESSARP in charge of designing the Professional Development agenda for the heads and teachers of the 210 affiliated bilingual schools the association serves. She holds a teaching degree from the National Teacher Training College INSP en Lenguas Vivas, Argentina, an ACP (Associate College of Preceptors) degree, extended by the College of Teachers, UK and an MA in Educational Management from the University of Bath, UK. She is Programme Leader for the Cambridge Certificate for Teachers in Bilingual Education started in October 2012.

Penny Ortner

Penny Ortner is a Spanish Primary School Teacher and holds a Licenciatura en Educación from the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes. She worked as an English Teacher in bilingual schools for many years and then became bilingual Head at Barker College, position which she held for over seventeen years. Throughout her professional years, she has gone in for Project Zero research and has specialized in Teaching for Understanding, Mixed Ability Classrooms and Authentic Assessment.
Having recently retired from school life, she has gone back to life long learning, in the belief that education is a key factor in world development.

• To reflect on their everyday practice as Heads of Primary.
• To share successful management strategies among colleagues.
The objective of this first meeting is to share common needs and ideas with the aim of working towards the development of a Professional Learning Community for Primary School educators. You will be able to contribute with your opinion on the type of meetings, topics, format, venue and sequence of sessions you would like to attend in 2012. Your participation can help us reach your needs in a more effective manner.
