Primary teachers.
- Analyse literary texts from an intercultural perspective to see how a given text creates cultural meaning, individual voice and cultural identity.
- Think, plan and practice a variety of classroom activities to help teachers and children:
- Develop a positive attitude, of curiosity and openness, towards other cultures.
- Develop a willingness to put themselves in the position of the "Other" so as to become more sensitive and tolerant to other cultural practices and perspectives.
- Develop a knowledge about one’s own culture and (an)other culture(s).
- Think, plan and practice a variety of classroom activities to help teachers and children:

We are going to read and work with the following texts:
- Fish is a Fish by Leo Lionni (short story).
- Mexican American rituals: Family gathering to prepare "tamales"(story).
- "My friend in school" By Tony Medina (poem).
- "The Planet of Mars" By Shel Silverstein (poem).
- "Talking Turkeys" by Benjamin Zephaniah (poem).
- "The Computer’s First Christmas Card" by Edwin Morgan (poem).
We will include other literary texts if time allows.

Workshop: Dialogical and interactive approach in which participants will discuss and apply concepts, brainstorm creative teaching ideas and develop supporting teaching materials.
