María Gabriela Marguery

Gabriela is a qualified Kindergarten teacher and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Saginaw Valley State University, Michigan, where she received the Award for Excellence in Graduate Research. With over 23 years' experience as teacher and principal of schools in Argentina, she is now a principal in a Catholic School and adjunct professor in the Early Childhood Education programme of Saginaw Valley State University. She acted as an Independent Evaluator of CyBear Surfer®, an Internet Safety Programme for 5th and 6th Grade children and co-conducted research on the use of visual aids to improve behaviour and create habits. She has done presentations in the NAEYC Conference (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and has been consultant of various schools in Argentina and in the USA.

Participants will: - Discuss the importance of teaching literary elements (plot, conflict, theme, setting, etc.) at an early age. - Appreciate the value of modeling and practicing strategies. - Analyse and evaluate a variety of activities. - Adapt activities to their class. - Design activities.

Workshop: Given a background, participants will discuss and apply concepts.
