Grace's passion for Synthetic Phonics is evident in her role as a Synthetic Phonics Trainer and her certification as an expert in the field. She also serves as an Educational and Literacy Consultant, offering valuable advice and delivering training sessions in various countries including Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brasil, Mexico, Ecuador, and Peru. This training course provides background advice for teachers, heads and coordinators. It explains the principles behind Synthetic Phonics so that your understanding of the teaching, and your ability to help a child on how to learn to read and write, is much greater.
This introductory course will explain to you the principles of synthetic phonic and the English Alphabetic code.
• It takes you step-by-step through a phonics lesson and the key skills of the programme:
learning the letter sounds, letter formation handwriting, blending, identifying the sounds in words and tricky words.
• The English Alphabetic Code.
• The importance of reading decodable texts.
It is an interactive course in which You will be taken through sample lessons and demonstrations of real classroom scenarios taking you step-by-step through a phonics lesson. Practical ideas and activities are shown that can be used in the classroom.
