British author Kazuo Ishiguro won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017 for his "novels of great emotional force". Since the publication of his first book in 1982, Ishiguro has gained worldwide renown for works such as The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go. His novels present the reader with the intricate landscapes of the inner worlds of characters who struggle with scarring memories and experiences. They therefore engage in a process of self-delusion and fictionalization in an attempt to make sense of their lives and come to terms with their pasts. The purpose of these workshops is to explore four of Ishiguro's most widely acclaimed novels in four encounters: A Pale View of Hills (1982), The Remains of the Day (1989), Never Let Me Go (2005) and The Buried Giant (2015).
- Presentation of an integrated approach to the texts.
