Teachers who have some experience of teaching a subject in English or teachers who have some limited experience of teaching English as a Foreign Language.
Workshop participants will be able to:
- read about, listen to, reflect on and discuss issues related to motivation in learning,
- reflect on the teaching methods they use, to better understand their own teaching techniques,
- evaluate the benefit for their own students of different activities and approaches set out to motivate students to learn,
- feel more confident in their use of English (tense consolidation).
- Language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
- Language functions: how to introduce an idea, agree or disagree, draw conclusions, clarify/expand on something.
- Grammar: present perfect and present perfect continuous.
- Vocabulary: descriptive language.
Methodology: This workshop is topic-based and self-contained. It includes a number of tasks which provide:
- coverage of the four language skills,
- opportunities for the study of the language system,
- ways of developing teaching-related language,
- awareness and evaluation of teaching methodologies.
