Mercedes Márquez, UBA History graduate, IGCSE, AICE and IB History teacher. She was History coordinator at Belgrano Day School from 1993 to 2002. At present, Head of History at St Andrew's Scots School.
Prospective IGCSE History teachers.
To introduce the structure and requirements of the IGCSE History syllabus and review teaching and assessment resources and methods.
Exposition and discussion of syllabus and content area focus, past examination papers, textbooks, on-line resources, teaching time-frames and emphases.
NB: This is an Introductory course, specially organised for teachers who have very little or no experience preparing these exams. Basic concepts will be discussed. Teachers who have some experience preparing these exams are advised not to attend this course as there will be future sessions in which more specific details of the exams will be developed.
