Nancy Johnstone

Nancy Johnstone is a graduate teacher of English (I.N.E.S en Lenguas Vivas “J. R. Fernández”) and Licenciada en Inglés (UNL). She holds a Specialisation degree in Education and Constructivism (FLACSO), and is currently working on her master’s thesis. She has always taught English at bilingual schools, teacher training colleges and the School of Engineering - UBA, where she is the Head of the Languages Department. She has been a Cambridge Speaking Examiner since 1995 and an Examiner Trainer and Coordinator/Team Leader since 2008.
She was awarded the IATEFL Cambridge English Peter Hargreaves Scholarship in 2016.

- To introduce the participants to reading skills underlying reading comprehension and show how these are tested
- To look at the different texts and task types found in Cambridge English reading tests and the skills required by candidates to do each task type
- To develop teachers’ awareness of the assessment of reading across the CEFR levels
- To identify language skills required for B2 and C1 Reading and Use of English
- To share practical ideas for developing reading and language skills at B2 and C1
- To suggest a range of classroom activities that are suitable for developing the necessary subskills for the Reading and Use of English paper and integrating them with other language skills.
