Marcela Rodriguez

Marcela Rodriguez is a Specialist in Science Education (Universidad de San Andrés) and holds a degree in Environmental Management (UNICEN). She is a graduate Biology and Geography teacher and has been teaching IGCSE Environmental Management, Geography, Biology and AS Biology since 1996 at various schools in the the northern area of Great Buenos Aires. She is a Cambridge Assessment Specialist, IBO senior examiner and reviser of Science textbooks.
Teachers with no or little experience in teaching AS Biology
- To provide new/ less experienced teachers with alternative classroom strategies and resources to improve the performance of their students.
- To discuss difficulties that arise when teaching specific syllabus topics and ways to overcome them.
The teacher as a decision-maker: factors affecting decisions when choosing strategies. Syllabus organization. Useful strategies (teaching/learning strategies, practice and revision strategies, assessment strategies, feedback) Resources: e-resources, books and booklets. Introduction to Edmodo. Dealing with specific syllabus topics and misconceptions.
Presentation by facilitator, discussion, questions and answers.
