New and less experienced AS Biology teachers.
To provide new/ less experienced teachers with classroom strategies and resources to improve the performance of their students, on the basis that each class is unique and will demand different strategies even within the same institution.
- Choosing suitable teaching strategies.
- Syllabus organization.
- Some useful strategies (teaching/learning, practice and revision, assessment) and resources.
- Dealing with specific syllabus topics.

Introduction: participants introduce themselves and share their experience teaching AS Biology.
Powerpoint presentation, discussion and exchange: factors affecting the choice of strategies; ways of dealing with AS Biology syllabus (chapter sequence); examples of strategies for teaching, revising, and assessing; resources.
Presentation of resources: books and booklets, Edmodo virtual classroom, animations, videos.
Discussion: difficulties which usually arise when teaching some specific topics, alternatives to deal with them and how to avoid common misconceptions. (I present some of them, teachers bring their own)
