John Butterworth

John Butterworth trained as a secondary-school teacher and taught in England, Canada and Germany before attending University College, London to take a degree in philosophy in 1982. He continued to teach, and write educational books, and became closely involved in the development of a series of critical thinking programmes at Cambridge Assessment (University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate). He is now a senior examiner for the CIE International AS/A Level in Thinking Skills and has delivered training events in the UK, the Middle East, China, Malaysia and Singapore. John gave up teaching in 1994 to write and research full-time, and now lives in Lancashire, UK. His publications include Thinking Skills, (Cambridge Univ. Press).

An introduction to the Cambridge syllabus - for teachers who are new to the profession, or have teaching experience and who have not taught Cambridge syllabuses previously, or for those who require a "refresher" course. These courses include an introduction to the key documents with which teachers should be familiar, introduction to standards required in the assessment of Cambridge syllabuses covering AS/A level, IGCSE and Cambridge International Diplomas. They include discussion of the resources which are available from Cambridge CIE and it's our partners.
