Beatriz Koessler

Beatriz holds an MA in Literary Linguistics from the University of Nottingham, Uk. She was a lecturer in British Literature and Literature in the Language Class at both I.S.P. "J. V. González" and I.E.S. en Lenguas Vivas "J. R. Fernández" for more than thirty years. She has worked as a materials designer for the British Council and for Pearson Education. She's co-author of the Storyline series.

María Cecilia Pena Koessler

Graduate Teacher of English at Primary level and at Secondary level from I.E.S en Lenguas Vivas "J. R. Fernández." Postgraduate course in Medieval and Renaissance Literature at I.E.S en Lenguas Vivas "J.R. Fernández." MA in Literary Linguistics (University of Nottingham) and Medieval Studies Master's degree student (UBA). She teaches English Literature I and Children and YA 's Literature at I.S.P. J.V.González and I.E.S. en Lenguas Vivas "J.R. Fernández" Teacher Training Colleges and IGCSE and IB literature at secondary schools. She has participated in research projects on Intercultural Awareness and Border Thery. She has co-authored "Little Stars" pre-primary series and "Our Stories" primary series for Pearson and designed creative writing and literature materials for other series (Pearson and Macmillan).

To acquaint teachers with: - The countless creative reading and writing activities which can be generated by a well chosen story. - Contemporary children's picture books. - Cumulative tales, fables, noodlehead stories, trickster tales, myths, legends, pourquoi stories, tall tales, fairy tales and urban myths from various cultures. - E-books available on internet. - Readers.
- A theoretical and practical framework to enable teachers to exploit the rich creative potential in their children in order not to have to resort to boring reading comprehension activities, closes or mechanical yes - no questions which are often to blame for destroying the inherent beauty of stories. - An analysis of the pros and cons of reading versus telling stories. - Contemporary children's picture books. - Cumulative tales, fables, noodlehead stories, trickster tales, myths, legends, pourquoi stories, tall tales, fairy tales and urban myths from various cultures. - Readers.
The sessions will be organized in terms of workshops for the participants to enrich their group - work with their inherent creativity.
