Primary school teachers and first and second year secondary school teachers.
To acquaint teachers with:
- The countless creative reading and writing activities which can be generated by a well chosen story.
- Contemporary children's picture books.
- Cumulative tales, fables, noodlehead stories, trickster tales, myths, legends, pourquoi stories, tall tales, fairy tales and urban myths from various cultures.
- E-books available on internet.
- Readers.
- A theoretical and practical framework to enable teachers to exploit the rich creative potential in their children in order not to have to resort to boring reading comprehension activities, closes or mechanical yes - no questions which are often to blame for destroying the inherent beauty of stories.
- An analysis of the pros and cons of reading versus telling stories.
- Contemporary children's picture books.
- Cumulative tales, fables, noodlehead stories, trickster tales, myths, legends, pourquoi stories, tall tales, fairy tales and urban myths from various cultures.
- Readers.
The sessions will be organized in terms of workshops for the participants to enrich their group - work with their inherent creativity.
