Ms. Madera completed her teaching training course at I S P Joaquín V. González in 1990. Soon after graduating she took a three-year course on Interpretation at CTI. In 2005 she graduated as a Licenciada en Educación at Quilmes University.
Since 1988 she has been working at Buenos Aires English High School, where she teaches English in the Senior Forms and coordinates the Cambridge ESOL evening courses. She also works at Islands International School, where she teaches Checkpoint Enlish and IGCSE First Language English.
At present she is taking a post graduate course at UVQ: "Especialización en Docencia en Entornos Virtuales"
Ms. Madera has coordinated two ESSARP Teachers' Forums (2007 and 2009) and the pre-ESSARP Conference Forum in 2009.

Help teachers maximize learners' comprehension of texts by focusing on reading as a process and implementing reading strategies.
What is reading? Reading as a process. The business of the brain. The eyes look, the brain sees. "Higher - order thinking" Schema theory. Cognitive strategies and reading comprehension.
Methodology: During the three-hour workshop, teachers will discuss the theoretical content suggested by the coordinator and will experience the benefit of implementing reading strategies to maximise the transaction.
No previous reading is required. Participants will receive a list of suggested bibliography during the workshop.
