Alejandra Alliende

Alejandra Alliende is a graduate Teacher of English from ISP Dr. Joaquin V. Gonzalez. She also graduated as an Actress from Escuela Metropolitana de Arte Dramático de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. She is a bilingual storyteller and performs in book fairs, storytelling festivals, theatres and schools. She has work experience as a teacher, storyteller, speaker and as a workshop facilitator. She belongs to Red Internacional de Cuentacuentos and she is a co-founder of Casa Cuna Cuenteros.

- To help teachers become familiarized with storytelling techniques and concepts.
- To make teachers reflect upon the possible uses of storytelling as a teaching tool.
- To make teachers experience storytelling in front of a friendly audience and in a safe environment.
* Written story vs. Oral story.

• The use of voice: the narrator vs. the characters.
• The use of silence.
• Audience participation.
• The use of visual aids to support comprehension.
• The use of gestures.
• The use of the body to convey meaning.
* The possible uses of storytelling as a teaching tool.
* Exposure, discussion and analysis of storytelling techniques and concepts.
• Listening to stories told by the facilitator and other storytellers (audio clips and dvd clips).
* Teachers will tell a story in front of the rest of the participants on the second session.
