To develop Phonics through exploring in more detail the English Alphabetic Code, the Simple View of Reading and the teaching of synthetic phonics reinforcing its teaching practice.
To learn about how it follows on from the first phases of Phonics.
To expand your knowledge of the alphabetic code and know how to teach it so as to develop children´s phonics and spelling knowledge.
To develop stategies for teaching phonics and spelling, reading and writing.

The course will cover the Simple View of Reading, the English Alphabetic Code and its complexities, the principles of synthetic phonics with its skills, how to carry on after the first year of phonics, how to teach phonics and spelling as from Year 2 to Year 7 in Primary with the progression in phonics and spelling. Reading and Writing: Shared, Guided and Independent. Reading Decodable texts and books.
You will be shown how you can continue to develop children’s phonics knowledge enabling them to improve their vocabulary, spelling and comprehension into Year 2 and expanding upto the last year of Primary.

You will be taken through lesson guides, structure and pace of teaching. Ideas and strategies for teaching spelling in a fun and enjoyable way are explored through sample lessons and demonstration of real classroom scenarios in the UK and in Argentina.
