Beatriz Koessler

Beatriz holds an MA in Literary Linguistics from the University of Nottingham, Uk. She was a lecturer in British Literature and Literature in the Language Class at both I.S.P. "J. V. González" and I.E.S. en Lenguas Vivas "J. R. Fernández" for more than thirty years. She has worked as a materials designer for the British Council and for Pearson Education. She's co-author of the Storyline series.
Primary Teachers.
- To dispel teachers’ fear of using poetry in class. - To acquaint teachers with traditional and current children’s poetry and songs. - To devise pre, while and post reading activities as from poems and songs. - To trigger teachers’ creative writing potential. - To establish connections between children’s poetry in English and in Spanish.
- Nursery rhymes and their equivalents in Spanish. - Lullabies. - Popular songs. - Humorous/absurd poetry. - Shape poetry, calligrams, diamond poetry. - Current poetry by Shel Silverstein, Roger McGough, John Foster, Brian Patten, Benjamin Zephaniah, Tony Mitton, Ian Mc Millan etc. Methodology: - Oral presentation. - Group work. - Creative writing activities.
