Gerardo Lazaro

Gerardo Lazaro graduated as a Biologist from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in 1998. Since that time, he started working as an Embryologist in Lima, Perú, for 3 years and in the United States for 4 more years. After that, he decided to make a career turn having the opportunity to become a Certified Medical Interpreter volunteering in the major hospitals of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area and acquiring an immense crosscultural and biomedical expertise. During that time, he also became a lecturer and educator. Since 2007, Gerardo has been working as a Science Teacher at Primary and Secondary school levels in Perú. In 2008 he became the ICT Coordinator of Colegio San Jorge de Miraflores in Lima, Perú. He is currently involved in the study of a Teaching Certification Programme and a Master in Education (MEd).

The use of communications means has had a rising presence in our society in the last decades. This has caused a progressive but deep impact in the teaching techniques and design of educational strategies. Digital media has allowed a popularization and democratization in the use and creation of information by teachers and students in educational and non-educational environments, that assist in the formation of cognitive structures, but also of communication and social networks of infinite use in the learning process."
