Effective school management cannot be carried out through a flatland approach to leadership. School managers need to display the necessary foresight, flexibility and strategic decision making to successfully lead a group of people to the achievement of educational goals. In order to reach these objectives, managers have to develop plans of action that contemplate the multiple perspectives and conflicts of interests that co-exist in a school. In order to meet the challenge, managers need to resort to leadership styles and strategies that guarantee the smooth running of the institution. This seminar takes a fresh look at all the factors that contribute to success taking as a starting point an empirical approach that considers actual case studies, dramatization of the most frequent scenarios and shared views on conflict resolution.
