David Gould

David is the Head of English at Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys (2001-present). He studied English at U.C.W. Aberystwyth and gained an M.A. in Language in Education from Southampton University. He has taught in four UK State schools including two Comprehensive schools and two boys’ grammar schools. In his spare time he likes to paint, write poetry and read widely as well as run a book group.

Rachel Lovera

Rachel is Deputy Head of English at Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys (2007-present). She taught in Bede’s Grammar School, Tortuguitas for six years before returning to the UK in 2001 where she home-schooled her own children. She gained a degree in Theatre and Performing Arts from Warwick University and has completed a Fast Track Teaching Programme for Senior Teaching. She is also a School Governor and in her spare time she likes to horse ride, travel the world trekking and promote ecology and sustainable living.
Literature teachers & Literature lovers
David Gould and Rachel Lovera, two experienced English teachers from the UK, will present an interactive workshop and introduction to strategies for reading, understanding and analyzing aspects of Shakespeare in a selected scene of ‘Romeo and Juliet’, to enable students to respond to the Cambridge English Literature IGCSE 0486.
Including:
• an interactive workshop of strategies for helping students to read Shakespeare.
• a close look at the exam structure and responding to an extract.
• an open session of questions and answers about recent curriculum changes in the examination structure of UK English.
