ESSARP would like to celebrate the good practices carried out in our schools by inviting teachers to present proposals on effective classroom practices or innovative projects which have taken or are taking place, either in English or Spanish.
The Conference will provide attendees with solutions to problems and/or ideas for an effective classroom practice addressing issues important to the current educational scenario. Proposals could address the following topics:
• Active Learning
• Community Service
• Creativity
• Differentiation
• Formative Assessment
• Global Education
• Integrating technology
• Making Thinking Visible
• Outdoor proposals
• Problem solving activities
• Social & Emotional Learning
• Visible Learning
• Wellbeing
• Working through projects
Types of presentations
1. Expository Sessions: In this category, applicants will be expected to deliver a 30-minute presentation on any of the topics suggested.
2. ESSARP Talks: Inspired on the popular TED Talks, presenters will be expected to deliver a 20-minute pitch supported by images/slides on any of the topics suggested.
3. World Café: This is an easy-to-use method for creating a living network of collaborative dialogue around questions that matter. In this category, applicants will be expected to act as hosts and present a thought provoking question that attracts collective interaction. There will be several questions to choose from in the same room. The audience will sit in groups of four around tables hosted by presenters who will be facilitating the discussion for approximately 20 minutes. After the first round, participants will move to other tables to continue their conversations while the hosts will remain at their tables to welcome newcomers. There will be two rounds followed by a period of sharing discoveries & insights in a whole group conversation. A member of the ESSARP staff will coordinate and moderate the session.
