Teachers at all levels.
The workshop is aimed at teachers who want to develop their professional skills and who genuinely want to share their work with others. It will appeal to teachers in schools who want to develop their skills as presenters at conferences and/or as teacher trainers on courses or workshops.
This introduction to becoming a Presenter and/or Trainer explores the first changes in attitude necessary for successful teachers of any subject at any level to develop the skills necessary to share their knowledge with others for professional development purposes. We will examine the need to change from being a teacher to becoming a presenter and/or a trainer and how that change in role has a complex set of beliefs and attitudes attached to it.
We will work at a reflective level but also try out lots of practical activities particularly related to:
- Creating the conditions for shared construction of individual knowledge.
- Interaction patterns and ways of sharing information with peers.
- Formats for planning sessions.
- How to engage the audience through presentation skills.
