Teachers interested in TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test - ESOL Cambridge).
Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is a test of knowledge about the teaching (pedagogical knowledge) of English as a second or additional language and it is designed as an initial qualification in teaching which could be used to access further training and enhance career opportunities. One of the aims of the TKT is to test candidates' knowledge of concepts related to language, language use and the background to and practice of language teaching and learning. Pretesting will be useful for us as it will give ESSARP candidates the opportunity to familiarise themselves with TKT task-types under test conditions and to receive feedback on areas of strength and weakness. There is a small number of places available in this trial and places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. All nominations must be received before May 8th and places will be confirmed by Monday 14th.
