Heads, Area/Level Coordinators, Heads of Department and aspiring leaders
This course offers a short introduction to Mastermind groups to show how this model of professional development addresses a void in our educational system that seriously undermines the quality and effectiveness of school leadership: the isolated nature of the work of leaders. School leaders often lack safe, challenging, and regular spaces for reflection that will allow them to refine the WHY of their leadership and fine-tune the HOW and WHAT of their leadership practices.
Level 1 is a pre-requisite to joining the 10 session ongoing Mastermind cohort (Level 2).

This course aims to:
- Create a space for collaborative reflection;
- Contribute to the development of a network of ESSARP school leaders;
- Model how Mastermind groups work.
- Introduction to the Mastermind basic elements and concepts
- ABC's of Professional Development
- Mastermind agreements
- Elements of leader well-being
- A Leader's mindset
- Hot Seats
Participants will meet synchronously via zoom and engage in a live Mastermind session led by the course leader. The session will include interactive activities, book/video/podcast discussions, 2 “hot seat” experiences and other short activities to promote the creation of a safe, challenging and fun environment for continuous professional learning.
At the end of the session, participants will be invited to join the 10 session Mastermind cohort that starts March 21st and ends July 11th and will meet over zoom every 2 weeks for 90-minute sessions.
