- To explore Lynn Nottage’s Crumbs from the Table of Joy, with a focus on the setting and on what characterisation may be reflecting about the American society of the 1950s.
- To discuss main themes as well as rhetorical and theatrical devices that further meaning in the literary work.
- To look into key passages through detailed readings to study how Nottage constructs semantic fields to build up tension and/or foreshadow events.
- To share teaching strategies regarding the approach to IGCSE Literature.
