Have you ever wondered why Shakespeare used magic and the supernatural in his plays?
In some cases, you will find that there is reconciliation and redemption through magic, in other cases it ends in tragedy because magic and the supernatural tend to be of a darker variety.
Some of his most well- known plays such as Macbeth, The Tempest and Midsummer Night’s Dream are very much influenced by witchcraft and the supernatural.
Yet would these plays have been as effective without such a potent element?
Who are the characters in charge of bringing magic and the supernatural into the plays?
