We sometimes take for granted that students will understand a text just by reading it several times. But comprehension is a complex skill that requires a conscious effort and is facilitated by the use of specific strategies aimed at such purpose.
The objective of this course is to understand the importance of explicit instruction of Reading Strategies to promote effective reading comprehension and acquire specific strategies to do so.
