“Much Ado about Nothing”
Is one of Shakespeare’s more popular comedies, with a history of success on the stage.
Most of its appeal lies in its two romantic love stories and how they come to a happy ending. And yet…
Is it merely a romantic comedy or does it have a dark side?
Is it only a battle of wits or gender politics?
Is it tradition versus modernity?
During this reading, we will notice that Much Ado is not without more serious and complex moments.
We will have a closer look at the characters, themes and images.
We will actively explore scenes and language.
And maybe discover that Much Ado about Nothing is actually much ado about life and its challenges.
