For teachers, coordinators, heads of department and school leaders from ESSARP member schools who are interested in understanding and applying artificial intelligence in educational contexts
The main objective of this proposal is to introduce ESSARP member schools to the Google AI Educator Series, a free professional learning programme designed to help educators develop practical AI literacy skills.
The proposal aims to:
Support teachers, coordinators and school leaders in understanding the role of generative AI in education.
Promote the safe, responsible and ethical use of AI tools in school contexts.
Explore practical classroom applications of tools such as Gemini and NotebookLM.
Help educators use AI to improve lesson planning, differentiation, feedback, assessment and administrative tasks.
Encourage teachers to reflect critically on how AI can support, but not replace, meaningful teaching and learning.
Offer a flexible professional development pathway that can be completed through short, self-paced or facilitated sessions.
Provide participants with the opportunity to earn badges or micro-credentials that recognise their AI literacy development.

The training will focus on three key areas from the Google AI Educator Series:
1. Foundational Understanding
Participants will learn the basic concepts of generative AI, its opportunities and limitations, and the importance of using AI safely, ethically and responsibly in education.
2. Pedagogical Applications
Participants will explore how AI can support teaching and learning, including lesson planning, differentiation, feedback, assessment, resource creation and bilingual classroom activities.
3. Administrative Applications
Participants will examine how AI can help educators save time with everyday tasks such as drafting communications, summarising information, creating rubrics and organising teaching materials.
