María Barberis

Maria Barberis is an educational leader, teacher trainer, and author passionate about transforming classrooms into cultures of thinking. Since 2012, she has worked closely with the ideas of Project Zero, helping educators bring Visible Thinking and Teaching for Understanding (TfU) into meaningful classroom practice.

With more than 25 years of leadership experience at Colegio Marín—as Head of the English Department, IBDP Coordinator, and School Principal—Maria has championed learning environments where both students and teachers feel valued, heard, and intellectually challenged.

She currently serves as a teacher trainer at ESSARP and as an Educational Consultant, supporting schools and leadership teams in Northern Buenos Aires. Maria is co-author of Las Tecnologías en (y para) la Educación (FLACSO, Uruguay) and El Aula Vivencial: de la clase recitada a la experiencia de aprendizaje (Editorial Bonum).

Her academic background includes a Professorship in English from Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), a Diploma in ELT Management from the University of Surrey, and an MA in Education Management from Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM).

Romina Paola Cariati

Romina Cariati is a leading figure in educational management, a trainer, and an author specializing in the practical application of Neuroscience, Visible Thinking, and Teaching for Understanding (TfU) in the classroom.
Since 2011, her professional practice has focused on these active methodologies, which she applies as a trainer and pedagogical consultant for various institutions, including the Ministry of Education of the Province of Buenos Aires.
She is the CEO of Universo Orión, a brand dedicated to fostering reflection and educational debate. She is the author of the book Rutinas de Pensamiento: herramientas para desarrollar mentes críticas en el aula and the co-author of El Aula Vivencial: de la clase recitada a la experiencia de aprendizaje (Ed. Bonum).
Her education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Education (UNQUI), a Professorship in English (UMSA), and post-graduate qualifications in Socio-Educational Policies and School Mediation. Her prior experience covers the co-founding of the Westbridge School of English in Banfield, the coordination of English institutes, and serving as the Vice-Principal of a prestigious bilingual school in the southern region of Buenos Aires.

- To celebrate and share experiences with visible thinking strategies.
- To brainstorm collaboratively.
- To reflect on challenges encountered and explore strategies for improvement
- Revisit core principles and the value of visible thinking
- Collaborative brainstorming: How might we expand routines to new areas?
- How to adopt and adapt basic and new thinking routines
- All participants will be invited to share their expertise with the Visible Thinking framework
- Each module we will revisit Thinking Routines and participants will be invited to send their own practice examples
- We will look into what went well, what could have been better and decide on the next steps
As usual, we will share resources and bibliography as needed during the modules.
