Primary school teachers.
- To provide easy and fast access to mathematical knowledge and teaching methods.
- To help teachers become effective Maths Teachers by giving suggestions on how to plan active and useful mathematics lessons, improving vocabulary and clarifying specific terminology.
- To share experiences and learn together with colleagues.
- To help teachers assist those children who need special attention, suggesting activities to deal with low/high abilities in order to consolidate or extend knowledge.
- To help teachers become effective Maths Teachers by giving suggestions on how to plan active and useful mathematics lessons, improving vocabulary and clarifying specific terminology.
- To share experiences and learn together with colleagues.
- To help teachers assist those children who need special attention, suggesting activities to deal with low/high abilities in order to consolidate or extend knowledge.
Each module contains:
- A detailed explanation of the mathematical ideas attempted in the module.
- Two sample lessons for different levels, illustrating the stages that should be considered by a teacher when planning a lesson: Learning outcomes; Starting the lesson; Main teaching; Reinforcement/Extension activities; Plenary; Follow-up activities. (Level 1: ages 6, 7; level 2: ages 8,9; level 3: ages 10, 11)
